Who are we?

We are Royall Enterprises, a startup company that currently concentrates on developing a text-to-speech software package called Xpress-It to help the disabled to express themselves clearly when physical conditions deny them verbal communication. Mr. Royall developed and has been using this wonderful product for years, finding it better than anything currently available. That is the innovation this wonderful software brings to market to help more people lead productive lives

            What is Xpress-It?

Xpress-It is an application program for reading text aloud.  The actual conversion from text to speech is carried out by a program called ETI-Eloquence. Xpress-It sends a stream of text to ETI-Eloquence, and receives a stream of acoustic parameters in return.  These are fed to a software speech synthesizer which computes the sound waveform you hear. In short, any text entered is spoken with remarkable clarity.

Who will care?

Anyone who can function at normal levels mentally but is physically unable to verbally communicate. Like it or not, we are all measured in part by our ability to effectively express ourselves verbally.

Why will they care?

We found no peer products with the voice quality and text-to-speech flexibility to really enable the disabled to communicate effectively with other people. Xpress-It is capable of any sound found in language. Moreover, it learns the word choices most often employed by the user, enabling it to assist the communication process by offering predictive choices for the next word or phrase. The capability to save the user’s time and effort by only typing partial words helps even more. The database within the package has been trained for many years and will give you the inun-comparable convenience from the very beginning.

What does Xpress-It look like?

Notice how simple the interface is. No strange icons to understand or program. Xpress-It reads a line of text aloud when the Enter key is pressed.

What is required to install Xpress-It?

Since Xpress-It is entirely software, people can use it on any machine installed with Windows 98/Me/2000/XP, sound card, and speakers.

What is our advantage over our direct competitors?

There are a handful of small companies in the assisted augmented communication market. Their offerings are mostly aimed at users with low mental function. The user selects from a menu of pictures or icons, and a message (e.g., “I am hungry”) is spoken. The few products that do the more versatile text-to-speech have serious shortcomings. Their audio quality and the user interface are quite cumbersome and these products also tend to make it difficult to use the same computer for other tasks, unacceptable for any disabled person hoping to be useful in a business environment. These drawbacks had been fully considered and hence became the design idea and concentration of Xpress It. Our goal is to enable the needing people to express their minds freely and conveniently with least effort.
